The AI4LAM community is pleased to highlight EuroMed2026 – 11th International Conference on Digital Heritage, a landmark international event that will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Digital Cultural Heritage. The conference will take place online from 2–4 November 2026, offering free registration and bringing together researchers, cultural heritage professionals, museums, libraries, archives, technology experts, educators, policymakers, and innovators from across the globe.
Celebrating 20 Years of Digital Cultural Heritage
Since its inception in 2006, EuroMed has become one of the leading international forums for digital cultural heritage, fostering collaboration between memory institutions and the research community while advancing the use of emerging technologies for the preservation, management, and dissemination of cultural heritage. Over the past twenty years, the conference has played a significant role in shaping the field and has established a remarkable scientific legacy, including millions of downloads of its conference proceedings and publications.
The theme of EuroMed2026 reflects the ongoing evolution of digital heritage, exploring the journey from Digital Twins to Memory Twins and addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, digital preservation, knowledge systems, immersive technologies, cultural data ecosystems, and the sustainable use of digital cultural heritage resources.
We are especially pleased to share that Ines Vodopivec, AI4LAM Secretary General, will serve as a Co-Chair of EuroMed2026. This appointment highlights the growing collaboration between the Digital Cultural Heritage and AI4LAM communities and reinforces the importance of connecting expertise from libraries, archives, museums, and the broader cultural heritage sector in shaping the future of responsible and innovative digital transformation.
As AI continues to transform how cultural heritage institutions create, manage, preserve, and provide access to knowledge, events such as EuroMed2026 offer a valuable opportunity for professionals to exchange experiences, showcase innovative projects, and discuss future directions for the sector.
