University of Michigan Joins AI4LAM as a Founding Member
Strengthening Global Knowledge Partnerships

We are pleased to announce that the University of Michigan has joined AI4LAM (Artificial Intelligence for Libraries, Archives, and Museums) with a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding. The University of Michigan Library’s strategic commitments – welcoming and accessible environments, partnership‑driven scholarship, and sustainable collection stewardship – resonate strongly with AI4LAM’s principles of openness, transparency, and ethical use of AI in cultural heritage.
Both institutions emphasize:
- Community‑centered development
- Responsible experimentation with emerging technologies
- Open knowledge ecosystems
We look forward to developing initiatives that strengthen our communities and contribute to a more connected, equitable, and AI‑driven digital transformation landscape for cultural heritage. The University of Michigan will be a valuable partner within the AI4LAM network, helping us build on the strong collaboration already established among member organizations.
