3D and Image Analysis WG – Call for Participation
October 7, 2026 (14:00 UTC)
Chair: Dr.-Ing. Vesna Pungerčar, Assistant Professor

Call for Participation:
Join AI4LAM 3D and Image Analysis Working Group
The AI4LAM 3D and Image Analysis Working Group is inviting new participants to join its community of practice focused on the use of 3D technologies, image analysis, computer vision, and artificial intelligence in libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural heritage institutions.
The working group provides a space for professionals, researchers, developers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, share projects and use cases, discuss challenges, and explore emerging tools and methodologies for working with digital visual and 3D collections.
Whether you are already working with 3D and image analysis technologies or are interested in learning more about their potential applications in the cultural heritage sector, we welcome your participation.
By joining the working group, you will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with peers from across the international AI4LAM community.
- Share experiences, projects, and best practices.
- Discuss new developments in 3D technologies, image analysis, and AI.
- Help shape future activities, resources, and collaborations.
Dr.-Ing. Vesna Pungerčar, Assistant Professor,
is a researcher and Head of the Centre for Digitalisation (CEDIG) at Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto, Slovenia. Her research focuses on digitalisation, material characterisation, and the application of artificial intelligence and advanced imaging technologies, with a particular interest in cultural heritage. Together with her interdisciplinary research group, she develops and applies methods that combine advanced sensing, 3D data and AI-based analysis for the documentation, investigation and interpretation of cultural heritage objects and materials. Her research addresses both the physical properties of heritage materials and their digital representation, supporting non-invasive analysis, preservation and further research.
