Yale MOU signing event March 2026

AI4LAM is proud to announce that Yale has joined AI4LAM (Artificial Intelligence for Libraries, Archives, and Museums) as a founding member. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AI4LAM, Yale joins forces with 46 other organizations around the world who are collectively shaping the future of AI in libraries, archives, and museums.

This collaboration formalizes our shared dedication to research, experimentation, and the development of ethical AI practices that support the global GLAM community, and our commitment to advancing trustful, responsible, open, and community‑driven innovation in cultural heritage. Together, we are strengthening a global network dedicated to advancing ethical and sustainable approaches to AI across the GLAM sector.

By pooling shared tools, knowledge, and best practices, we enhance our collective capacity to support discovery, preservation, and access in ways that honour the diversity and integrity of cultural heritage. This growing alliance creates meaningful opportunities for cross‑institutional research and innovation, grounded in transparency, stewardship, and a shared belief in the value of open collaboration.

Above all, we are united by a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and sustainable AI, ensuring that human expertise, context, and care remain central as we explore new possibilities for the future of cultural memory.

Yale’s participation as a founding member underscores our belief that the future of AI in cultural heritage must be built collaboratively—drawing on diverse expertise, shared governance, and a global network of partners.
