
Secretary General provides guidance and support to the Advisory Council and Board of Directors while overseeing the implementation of decisions. With the day-to-day management of AI4LAM, the SG ensures operational efficiency and strategic alignment.
Secretary General
Secretary General is appointed by the Board of Directors, and has the following powers and duties:
- Conduct daily management tasks and activities as delegated by the BOD, including overseeing and administering the finances of AI4LAM;
- Perform administrative actions and other necessary arrangements, including those related to legal proceedings;
- Implement decisions and facilitate coordination between all organizational bodies while advising on AI4LAM’s strategic development;
- Prepare reports for the BOD and AC;
- Represent the AI4LAM in external engagements and at public functions;
- Supervise administrative functions and facilities of the Secretariat.;
- Is ordinarily invited to attend meetings of the Advisory Council, the Board, and Expert Committee ex officio.
The Secretary General leads the AI4LAM Secretariat, both are compensated for their activities.

Secretary General: Dr. Ines Vodopivec
She was appointed in 2025 to strategically lead the implementation phase of AI4LAM on the road toward a sustainable organizational model, and to further develop the organization during the first three years of AI4LAM’s transitional period.
She brings significant experience in cultural heritage and digital humanities, having previously served as Deputy Director of the National and University Library of Slovenia and as a member of the UNESCO Memory of the World National Committee from 2020 to 2024. She is currently still Vice Dean at Nova University’s Faculty of Slovenian and International Studies, where she specializes in interdisciplinary research methodologies and digital humanities. Dr. Vodopivec is also active in international organizations, serving as a member of the Management Board of the Europeana Network Association and as a member of the IFLA Digital Humanities – Digital Scholarship Committee.
